Privacy Policy

Email, profile and birth year; the messages and content you post; device and crash info.

IP address and basic logs (device type, app version, time) to keep EGGIE secure and fix problems, and a push token to deliver notifications.

Location only if you allow it, and only your approximate location, to show communities and events nearby. You can pick a city instead. We don’t keep a history of where you’ve been.

In voice and video calls, audio and video pass through our servers only to reach the person you’re talking to.

We never collect your account key or backup password.

To run chat, communities, the plaza, calls, points and the Spirit; handle reports; protect teens.

We don’t sell your data or use it for targeted ads.

Camera, microphone, photos, location and notifications are asked for only when needed, with an explanation first. Saying no won’t break anything else.

Spirit chats are processed by OpenAI and DeepSeek: only your messages and the contacts or event details a task needs. We require these providers not to use your content to train their models. If we change providers, we’ll ask for your consent again.

They’re used only to write replies and are encrypted in transit. Account keys, passwords and codes are never sent.

Photos you upload (including photos sent in private and group chats) and the name and bio you enter are checked automatically by a content moderation service (OpenAI; Amazon Web Services when OpenAI is unavailable) before they are made public or delivered to others. Only the content itself is sent, never your identity. Content the automatic check can’t decide is reviewed by our moderation staff before it’s released. Images found to break our rules are deleted immediately; we keep only a fingerprint that can’t be turned back into the image (to block the same image from being uploaded again) and a record of the action (category, time, account number). Records of serious violations, such as those involving minors, are kept after you delete your account where the law requires it.

Providers that host our servers, send sign-in codes and notifications, or process crash reports get only the data they need for that job, and are bound by contract to protect it at least as well as this policy does.

Account backups live in your own iCloud.

Our servers are in Hong Kong. Spirit requests are processed by OpenAI (United States) and DeepSeek (China), and may pass through our own relay servers in other regions on the way, so your Spirit messages may be processed outside your country, under the protections described above.

Spirit chats are kept for 30 days. Account data is deleted 7 days after you delete your account.

Signed records (opening your Eggy ID, joining communities, invites, membership): you sign them, we log them in order, and every hour we write a digest of the whole log to a public ledger. A digest is a short fingerprint of the log; it contains no names, emails or messages. On deletion you sign a closing record and your details, name and photo are removed; digests already written to the ledger can’t be deleted.

Safety records such as moderation logs are kept anonymized for 180 days.

You must be 16 or older to use EGGIE. Under-18s get teen mode automatically, and 18-rated content is never shown to them.

Clear Spirit chats or withdraw consent in Settings → Privacy → Spirit AI.

Delete your account in Me → Settings → Account & security, or by emailing us from the address on your account.

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top and ask you to review it in the app.
