Why we started
Most people keep their lives across several apps: one for friends, another for the groups they belong to, another to find out what’s happening nearby. The communities they care about — a running club, a neighbourhood, people from the same hometown in a new city — end up scattered across all of them.
We started Oovix to build software that brings those pieces together, and to hold it to the standard we’d want for ourselves: fast, careful with people’s data, and built with security in mind from the first line of code.
What we’re building first
Our first app is EGGIE. It brings together private and group chats, communities with their own channels and events, a plaza for posts from people and communities nearby, and an AI Spirit that helps with the busywork and asks before it acts.
EGGIE is in development. We plan to release it on iPhone first, on the App Store in Malaysia, in early 2027.
The name
Oovix comes from ovum, Latin for egg — the small thing everything starts from.
