Oovix inc is now a Colorado corporation. Why we started it, and what we’re building first.

Today Oovix inc was incorporated in the state of Colorado, United States, under entity ID 20268292730.

Why we started

Most people keep their lives across several apps: one for friends, another for the groups they belong to, another to find out what’s happening nearby. The communities they care about — a running club, a neighbourhood, people from the same hometown in a new city — end up scattered across all of them.

We started Oovix to build software that brings those pieces together, and to hold it to the standard we’d want for ourselves: fast, careful with people’s data, and built with security in mind from the first line of code.

What we’re building first

Our first app is EGGIE. It brings together private and group chats, communities with their own channels and events, a plaza for posts from people and communities nearby, and an AI Spirit that helps with the busywork and asks before it acts.

EGGIE is in development. We plan to release it on iPhone first, on the App Store in Malaysia, in early 2027.

The name

Oovix comes from ovum, Latin for egg — the small thing everything starts from.

What EGGIE is for, what’s in the first version, and how we’re building it.

EGGIE is the first app from Oovix. It’s in development and not on the App Store yet, so this post has no numbers — just what we’re making and why.

The problem

Communities organise themselves in group chats that were never designed for them. Announcements get buried, sign-ups happen in long threads, and newcomers don’t know where to start. Finding out what’s going on nearby means opening yet another app.

EGGIE gives each community its own place, and keeps your everyday chats right next to it.

What’s in the first version

Chat. Private and group chats, delivered in real time by a service built only for messages.

Communities and channels. Every community has its own name, logo and members, with separate channels for announcements, sign-ups and everyday talk.

Plaza. Photo and text posts from the people and communities you follow, and from your city.

Eggy ID. One short ID, and a card your friends can scan.

Points and membership. Points come from check-ins, events, tasks and inviting friends, and go toward membership and gifts. They’re never sold.

Spirit AI. An assistant that drafts and plans, then waits for your tap. It only starts once you’ve agreed to how your data is used.

Safety. Reporting, blocking, teen mode and account deletion, all inside the app.

More is on the way after 1.0.

How we’re building it

Four engineering rules apply to everything we ship. Security: we attack-test the critical paths, and before launch an outside firm runs a penetration test. Speed: our targets are the response times of the big messaging apps, and each milestone ends with a load test. Hot fixes: rules, text and switches live on our servers, so most fixes need no update; code fixes are for bugs only, and new features always go through App Store review. Privacy: we collect only what the app needs. There’s more on our How we build page.

When

We plan to release EGGIE on iPhone first, on the App Store in Malaysia, in early 2027. Android, Google Play and desktop versions will follow.
